This week’s Photo Friday Challenge, “What I Found” is perfect for this week’s images from our walk around the ponds at the St. Augustine Road Fish Management Area. Quinn found a turtle sunning itself on a log in the South pond and took quite a photo – the turtle (a cooter or a slider – we are still trying to learn our turtles) looks like it is trying to fly. It looks like it might have a leech hanging off its back foot – kind of interesting. Then, on the far side of the North pond, he found a Leopard Frog, Rana utricularia. The only other Leopard Frog we’ve found was the one that took up residence in our backyard pond and had to be relocated back to the park pond after we caught it chowing down on our tree frogs.
