It has been a hot May in the park. Most of the birds are gone but we can always count a few on the automatic fish feeder they seem to like the perch.
The arrowhead plants are all blooming:
Found a tiny egg on the ground but can’t tell what kind and couldn’t see a nest in the tree above:
I think this is a Florida leaf-footed bug. It was large; over an inch long:
A cicada shell:
And my favorite find: a trash bug! I think they are the larval stage of a lacewing. These teeny bugs cover themselves with all kinds of detritus and move around in a slow, jerky motion, They look like specks of bark, or lichen until they move:
