Right after I commented that we hadn’t seen any owls this year, we rounded a turn in the road just in time to see one take off for a nearby tree.
Here it is – July – I’ve been offline for a while, busy with family trips, and the photo backlog has been growing. So yeah… May in Earl Johnson Park …because I’m in a linear frame of mind and can’t make myself talk about June and July before I post my May photos.
May brought the first Parrot lily:
And an Orchard Spider, my first spider sighting in the park this year:
A pretty butterfly, the Gulf Fritillary:
There weren’t many birds in the park but this heron hung around the fish feeder most of the month:
We saw several alligators over a week’s time, then none after that. I’m assuming they moved on:
Tracks in the sand – heading out of the park. A gator?
